IKEA RÅSKOG trolley, black, 35×45×77 cm: interactive 3D assembly guide

Every step of IKEA's RÅSKOG trolley manual, built in 3D. Press play to watch a step, drag to look around, or switch to Drawing to see it in the manual's black-line style.

What is in the box

The two bases, the two posts in two sections each, three baskets and six clamps. The bag holds 8 short screws, 6 bolts and 6 cap nuts, and the four castors, two of them with brakes; the spanner is in the box. You need a cross-head screwdriver.

All 7 steps

  1. 1Join the posts’ sections

Push the narrowed ends of each upper section into a lower section, and fix the joint with a screw (121194) through each tube: 2 to each post.

  2. 2Stand the posts on the bases

Stand the two bases on the rug, front and back. Push each post onto the bases’ upright ends, one tube onto each, and fix each with a screw through the tube: 4 in all.

  3. 3Fit the bottom basket

Set the bottom basket between the posts at the lowest tabs. Hold a clamp round the outside of each post, push a bolt (124154) through the clamp, the tab and the basket, and screw a cap nut (10119612) onto it inside, tightened with the spanner (130772).

  4. 4Fit the middle basket

Fit the middle basket the same way at the next tabs, its rim round the posts as the manual’s pointing hand shows: a clamp, a bolt and a cap nut at each end.

  5. 5Fit the top basket common mistake

Fit the top basket at the top tabs the same way: a clamp, a bolt and a cap nut at each end, tightened with the spanner. Common mistake: The posts are only held by the baskets. Pull the middle basket’s cap nuts tight while a post leans in or out, and they hold it there: the top basket’s holes no longer line up with the tabs, and its bolts stop at the post. Loosen the middle basket’s nuts, stand the posts straight so the top bolts go through, then tighten every nut with the spanner.

  6. 6Lay it on its back and fit the castors with brakes

Lay the trolley on its back on the rug. Screw the two castors with brakes into the holes under the front base by hand, then tighten them with the spanner.

  7. 7Fit the other castors and stand it up

Screw the two castors without brakes into the back base and tighten them. Stand the trolley up. Press a brake pedal down to lock its wheel and lift it to let it roll.

Tools you need

Questions

What tools do I need for the RÅSKOG trolley?

Only a cross-head screwdriver for the posts’ joints. The spanner for the cap nuts and the castors is in the box.

Which castors have the brakes?

Two of the four castors have a brake pedal. This guide puts them on the front base; press a pedal down to lock its wheel and lift it to free it.

The top basket’s bolts will not go in. Why?

A post is out of line, usually because the basket below was tightened while the post leaned. Loosen that basket’s cap nuts, stand the posts straight, push the bolts through and tighten everything again.

How much can the RÅSKOG trolley hold?

IKEA gives 6 kg for each basket and 18 kg in all.

About this guide

The steps, the part numbers, the counts and the order come from IKEA's assembly manual AA-2475409-4 (2023-09-29). The outer size, 45 × 35 × 77 cm, is IKEA's published size. The overall size is IKEA’s; the tubes, the baskets’ depth and the bolts’ heights are read off the manual’s drawings, so they are close, not measured. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.

IKEA gives 6 kg for each basket and 18 kg in all.

The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
