Questions
Which cam locks go where on the BESTÅ TV bench?
The 8 plain cam locks (118137) go into the two sides, four at each end. The 4 cam locks with a spring (130619) go into the thicker middle upright, two at each end. Do not swap them.
How do I level the BESTÅ TV bench?
It stands on six adjustable feet (114947). Set the four outer ones from inside the compartments with the hex key (100006), through the socket in the top of their studs, then turn the two middle ones by hand until they touch the floor.
How are the cables run through the BESTÅ TV bench?
Up the back behind the narrow middle back panel: in through the cable grommet in the bottom (133203) and out through the grommet in the top (144567), whose lid (133209) clicks on over them.
Does the BESTÅ TV bench have to be fixed to the wall?
Yes. IKEA says a floor-standing TV bench must be fixed to the wall with the included fittings: three wall brackets (144342), wall fittings (103693) and covers (144343), with screws and plugs that suit your wall.
Safety
A floor-standing TV bench must be fixed to the wall with the included wall fittings, using screws and plugs that suit your wall. Do not put a TV heavier than 16 kg on it.
About this guide
This is an independent 3D engineering guide modeled from physical hardware specifications and standard fastener part numbers so you can identify your pieces before building. The outer size, 120 × 40 × 38 cm, is IKEA's published size. The outer size is IKEA’s. Board thicknesses, the notches and the places of the feet are our own estimates, so they are close, not measured. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.
IKEA gives a max. TV weight of 16 kg for this bench.
The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
