Questions
How do I adjust crooked BESTÅ doors on 3-way soft-close hinges?
Each hinge (109338) on mounting plate (109221) adjusts three ways with a cross-head screwdriver: turn the front screw to move the door left or right (side-to-side gap), loosen the top and bottom plate screws (113287) to slide the door up or down (height), and loosen the rear clamping screw to slide the door in or out (depth).
What mounting plate attaches the legs under the BESTÅ TV bench?
Four steel mounting plates (part 104217, 105 mm across with a central M8 thread) are screwed under the corners of the bottom panel using twenty 4.5 × 25 mm screws (part 108443), five per plate.
What cam fasteners hold the BESTÅ frame together?
Twelve cam bolts (118331), twelve wooden dowels (101350) and twelve cam locks (119081) join the outer sides and centre divider to the top and bottom panels.
How many shelf supports do the BESTÅ shelves use?
Eight metal shelf supports (131372), four per compartment shelf.
Safety
Place the TV bench on a level floor and adjust the feet so it stands steady under the weight of your television.
About this guide
The part numbers and counts match IKEA's assembly instructions, so you can check each piece against your box. The outer size, 120 × 40 × 38 cm, is IKEA's published size. Board thicknesses, leg plate positions and hinge coordinates are our own estimates from IKEA’s assembly drawings. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.
Top panel holds up to 50 kg; each interior shelf holds up to 20 kg.
The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and BESTÅ are named only to say which product this guide is for.
