Step 12 of 12
LACK TV bench step 12 of 12: Fix it to the wall
Push the bench back against the wall, with the screw’s head through the bracket’s round hole. Put the wall fitting (103693) on over the head through the round hole of its keyhole, slide it down and tighten the screw with the flat screwdriver. Then push the cover (115754) on from the side. Done.
Tools: Flat screwdriver
Common mistake: leaving it standing without the wall fixing. Pulled at the top or climbed on by a child, a free-standing bench tips forward and falls. That is why IKEA says it must be fixed to the wall, with a screw and plug that suit your wall. The switch in the player shows what goes wrong.
All 12 steps
- 1 Screw the wall bracket under the top
- 2 Turn in the 4 double-ended screws
- 3 Turn the 4 legs on
- 4 Stand it on its end and mark two legs
- 5 Screw on the first 2 shelf holders
- 6 Turn it over and mark the other two legs
- 7 Screw on the other 2 shelf holders
- 8 Lay it on its back and lower in the shelf
- 9 Screw the shelf to the 4 holders
- 10 Stand it up and mark the wall
- 11 Put in the wall screw common mistake

The parts' sizes are our 3D model's own estimates: close, not measured. The overall size (90×26×45 cm) and the hardware’s sizes are IKEA’s; the boards’ thicknesses and the shelf’s height are our own estimates, so they are close, not measured. IKEA publishes only the outer size.

Questions
How do the legs attach to the LACK TV bench?
Each leg turns by hand onto a double-ended screw (115980), 70 mm long, whose other half you have already turned into a corner of the upturned top, as far as the collar in its middle.
What is the plastic strip in the LACK TV bench box?
The leg template (120938). It hooks over the free end of a leg and has a small hole near its far end: you prick a hole through it with an awl, and the shelf holder is screwed on there.
Which screw goes where on the LACK TV bench?
The long screws (108530) hold the shelf holders to the legs, the short ones (109041) go through the holders into the shelf, and the two thicker short ones (100372) hold the wall bracket under the top.
How much weight can the LACK 90×26×45 cm TV bench hold?
IKEA gives a maximum of 30 kg on the top panel and 10 kg on the lower shelf.
Does the LACK TV bench have to be fixed to the wall?
Yes. The box holds a wall bracket, a keyhole fitting and a cover, but no wall screw or plug, because those depend on your wall.
Safety
This bench must be fixed to the wall: a free-standing one can tip over if it is climbed on or pulled at the top. Do not sit or stand on it, and never exceed 30 kg on the top panel or 10 kg on the lower shelf.
About this guide
This is an independent 3D engineering guide modeled from physical hardware specifications and standard fastener part numbers so you can identify your pieces before building. The outer size, 90 × 26 × 45 cm, is IKEA's published size. The overall size (90×26×45 cm) and the hardware’s sizes are IKEA’s; the boards’ thicknesses and the shelf’s height are our own estimates, so they are close, not measured. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.
IKEA gives a maximum TV load of 30 kg on the top panel and 10 kg on the lower shelf.
The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and LACK are named only to say which product this guide is for.
