IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard, white, 76×56 cm: interactive 3D assembly guide
Every step of IKEA's SKÅDIS pegboard 76×56 manual, built in 3D. Press play to watch a step, drag to look around, or switch to Drawing to see it in the manual's black-line style.
What is in the box
The pegboard, its rail (153302), 4 thumbscrews (153311) and 2 spacers (152741). Screws for the wall are not included: use ones that suit your wall, with a round head.
- The manual shows two people: one to hold the board while the other screws.
All 4 steps
- 1Mark the rail’s two screw holes
Measure 60 cm along the wall with a tape measure and mark a cross at each end with a pencil. Hold a spirit level along the line between them: the two marks must be level, or the board hangs crooked.
- 2Screw the rail to the wall
Hold the rail on the wall with its pear-shaped holes over the marks, its tabs pointing out from the wall, and screw it on with two wall screws and the flat screwdriver. Use screws with a round head, not a countersunk one; they are not included.
- 3Screw the spacers on
Stand the pegboard on its top edge. Hold a spacer (152741) behind each bottom corner slot, its key in the slot, and screw a thumbscrew (153311) through the slot into it with the flat screwdriver.
- 4Hang the pegboard on the rail common mistake
Turn the pegboard the right way up and hold it against the rail, its top corners in front of the rail’s tabs. Screw a thumbscrew (153311) through each top corner hole into the tab. The spacers hold the bottom 2 cm off the wall. Common mistake: The rail’s tabs hold the board’s top 2 cm off the wall, and the two spacers hold its bottom. Left out, the bottom swings back against the wall: SKÅDIS hooks and holders clip in behind the board, and there they cannot.

Questions
What is in the SKÅDIS pegboard’s box?
The pegboard, its rail, 4 thumbscrews and 2 spacers. The screws for the wall are not included: use ones that suit your wall, with a round head.
How far apart do the rail’s screws go?
60 cm for the 76×56 board, level with each other. For a second board above it, the manual puts its rail 56.5 cm higher.
Can it go on a desk instead of the wall?
IKEA says it can be fixed to a desk with connectors that are sold separately; this guide follows the manual’s wall rail.
What are the spacers for?
They hold the board’s bottom 2 cm off the wall, as the rail’s tabs hold the top, so hooks and holders can clip in behind the board.
Can SKÅDIS go in a bathroom?
IKEA says it can also be used in bathrooms.
Safety
IKEA warns that the pegboard must be securely anchored so it cannot fall down: use screws and plugs that suit your wall, and if you are not sure, ask a professional.
About this guide
The steps, the part numbers, the counts and the order come from IKEA's assembly manual AA-1891323-4 (2024-03-27). The outer size, 76 × 56 cm, is IKEA's published size. The board’s size is IKEA’s, and so are the 60 cm between the rail’s screws; the board’s thickness, its slots and corner holes, and the rail’s shape are read off the manual’s drawings, so they are close, not measured. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.
The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and SKÅDIS are named only to say which product this guide is for.
