IKEA GLADOM tray table, black, 45×53 cm: interactive 3D assembly guide

Every step of IKEA's GLADOM tray table manual, built in 3D. Press play to watch a step, drag to look around, or switch to Drawing to see it in the manual's black-line style.

What is in the box

Two leg frames, the ring and the tray; in the bag one long screw (123451), three short screws (122202) and a hex key (100006). The hex key is the only tool you need.

All 4 steps

  1. 1Set the leg frames across each other

Stand one leg frame on the rug and set the other across it, its top bar in the dip in the middle of the first one’s. Screw them together where the top bars cross with the long screw (123451), using the hex key (100006). Use the long screw here, not a short one.

  2. 2Screw the bottom bars together

Where the bottom bars meet, screw a short screw (122202) down into the block with the hex key.

  3. 3Fit the ring common mistake

Lower the ring between the legs onto the ends of the top bars, so each of its four flat eyes lies down on a flattened seat with its hole over the hole in the bar. Screw two opposite eyes down with short screws (122202). Common mistake: The manual shows it with a pointing hand: each flat eye of the ring must lie down on the flattened part of the bar, its hole over the bar’s. Left beside it, the eye sits up on the round tube, the ring tilts and the screw does not reach the thread. Turn the ring until every eye drops onto its seat, then screw it down.

  4. 4Set the tray on the ring

Lower the tray onto the ring. It lifts off, so you can carry things on it.

Questions

What tools do I need for the GLADOM tray table?

Only the hex key (100006) in the box.

Which screw goes where?

The long one (123451) goes where the top bars cross; the three short ones (122202) go into the block where the bottom bars meet and through two of the ring’s eyes.

The ring wobbles. Why?

An eye is not down on its flattened seat. Loosen its screw, turn the ring until all four eyes sit flat, and tighten it again.

How much can the GLADOM tray table hold?

The manual gives a maximum load of 10 kg, and warns not to sit on it.

Safety

From the manual: this is a delicate table. Do not sit on it, and do not put heavy things on it: the maximum load is 10 kg.

About this guide

The steps, the part numbers, the counts and the order come from IKEA's assembly manual AA-2544925-1 (2024). The outer size, 45 × 45 × 53 cm, is IKEA's published size. The width, across the tray, and the height are IKEA’s; the screws’ sizes are a spare-parts seller’s; the tubes, the ring and the tray’s rim are read off the manual’s drawings, so they are close, not measured. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.

The manual gives the maximum load as 10 kg.

The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.

The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and GLADOM are named only to say which product this guide is for.
