Every step of IKEA's EKET cabinet 35×35×35 manual, built in 3D. Press play to watch a step, drag to look around, or switch to Drawing to see it in the manual's black-line style.
What is in the box
The cabinet: two side panels, a top marked 1 and a bottom, all with mitred ends, and the back panel; 4 back panel clips (10093081) with 4 wedges (10093082), 2 wall fittings (141413) with 2 spacer caps (141414), and 2 screw plates (152651) with 2 cover caps (152650). The legs come in their own box: 4 legs on their plates, 12 screws (109049), 4 feet (107862) and a template (152740).
- To stand on the floor EKET needs legs or feet, sold separately; this guide uses the EKET wood legs, 10 cm. Wall screws are not included either.
All 18 steps
- 1Click the bottom on to a side
Stand a side panel on its front edge. Hold the bottom’s mitred end against the side’s end, push its three pegs into the side’s keyhole slots and slide it towards the front until it clicks.
- 2Click the other side on
Push the other side panel’s slots over the pegs in the bottom’s other end and slide it towards the front until it clicks. The three panels make a U.
- 3Slide in the back panel common mistake
Slide the back panel into the grooves near the panels’ back edges, from the open end, its white side into the cabinet. Its edges must go into the grooves, not lie on top of them. Common mistake: The back panel is white on one side only: that side goes into the cabinet, and the bare side with the warning label faces out. It slides into its grooves either way round, so look before you slide it in.
- 4Click the top on and stand it up
Push the top panel, the one marked 1, on to the pegs at the open end of both sides and slide it towards the front until it clicks. Stand the cabinet up on its bottom.
- 5Push the back panel down into its groove
With the cabinet standing, push the back panel down until its bottom edge is right down in the bottom panel’s groove.
- 6Clip the back panel in
Push a back panel clip (10093081) into the hole in the middle of each edge, just behind the back panel, then push a wedge (10093082) into each clip: 4 of each.
- 7Prick the legs’ holes along the sides
Turn the cabinet upside down. At each corner of the bottom, lay the template (152740) along the side’s edge and press the screwdriver’s tip through its two holes into the bottom: 8 holes.
- 8Prick the last hole at each corner
Lay the template along the front’s or back’s edge at each corner and prick one more hole through it: 4 holes. Throw the template away.
- 9Turn each leg on to its plate
Lay each leg plate face down and turn a leg on to its stud until it is tight: 4 legs.
- 10Screw the legs under the corners
Set each leg’s plate on a corner of the bottom, over its three pricked holes, and screw it on with 3 screws (109049) and the screwdriver: 12 screws.
- 11Screw in the feet and turn it over
Screw a foot (107862) into the end of each leg by hand. Turn the cabinet over and stand it on its legs.
- 12Check it stands level
Lay a spirit level on the top. If the bubble is not between the lines, turn a foot in or out until it is.
- 13Push in the wall fittings
Turn the cabinet so its back is towards you. Push a wall fitting (141413) into the two holes inside each side at the back, just under the top, its drum pointing back.
- 14Drill out the middle of each fitting
With a drill and an 8 mm bit, drill through the middle of each wall fitting’s drum, as page 13 shows.
- 15Screw on the spacer caps
Screw a spacer cap (141414) on to each wall fitting by hand, all the way on.
- 16Set it against the wall
Turn the cabinet round and move it back against the wall. Turn each spacer cap out until it touches the wall, so the cabinet stands straight.
- 17Screw it to the wall common mistake
Set a screw plate (152651) on the inside of the back panel at each top corner, its notches to the sides, and drive a wall screw through each into the wall with the screwdriver. Use screws and plugs suited to your wall; they are not included. Common mistake: The manual warns that furniture can tip over and cause serious injury, so EKET is fixed to the wall with its screw plates and screws suited to the wall. Its spacer caps only hold it off the wall; they do not hold it up.
- 18Press on the cover caps
Press a cover cap (152650) over each screw plate.

Tools you need
- Cross-head screwdriver · Not in the box: the legs’ manual asks for it, to prick the holes through the template and drive the 12 screws; it also drives the wall screws.
- Spirit level · Not in the box: laid on the top to check the cabinet stands level, as page 16 shows.
- Drill · Not in the box: page 13 drills out the middle of each wall fitting with an 8 mm bit.
Not in the box: EKET legs (their own box), Wall screws and plugs.
Questions
What do I need besides the EKET cabinet?
To stand on the floor it needs legs or feet, sold separately (this guide uses the EKET wood legs, 10 cm), and screws suited to your wall to fix it there. The manual also asks for a drill with an 8 mm bit and a spirit level.
Which way round does the back panel go?
Its white side faces into the cabinet; the bare side with the warning label faces the wall.
What are the wall fittings and their caps for?
They sit inside the back at the top. Turned out until they touch the wall, the caps hold the top of the cabinet off the wall so it stands straight; the screws through the screw plates hold it to the wall.
How much can the EKET cabinet hold?
IKEA gives a maximum load of 7 kg.
Safety
From the manual: furniture can tip over. Fix the cabinet to the wall with its screw plates and screws suited to your wall.
About this guide
The steps, the part numbers, the counts and the order come from IKEA's assembly manuals AA-2702567-1 (2026-03-11) and, for the legs, AA-2196566-3 (2026-09-23). The outer size, 35 × 35 × 35 cm, is IKEA's published size. The cabinet’s size and the legs’ height are IKEA’s; on its legs it stands about 45 cm high. The panels’ thickness, the back panel’s set-back and where the fittings sit are read off the manuals’ drawings and IKEA’s measurement drawing, so they are close, not measured. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.

The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF, legs PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and EKET are named only to say which product this guide is for.
