Questions
What tools do I need to assemble the TROFAST stepped pine frame?
The box includes the hex key (100001) for the 20 long hex screws (100229). You also need a cross-head screwdriver for the 18 guide-rail screws (100349) and the 2 wall-bracket screws (109049).
Where do the 8 long dowels (101354) go?
The 8 long dowels (101354) join the three stepped top panels (low, middle and high) to the two inner vertical dividers; the 20 shorter dowels (101350) go into the bottom panel, plinth strips and outer sides.
Which way round do the two inner dividers go?
Each stepped divider has rail pilot holes higher up on its right face (facing the taller column) and step dowel holes on its left face (for the lower top panel). Always orient the taller row of rail holes towards the higher side.
Are the plastic guide rails included with the pine frame?
Yes, 18 polypropylene guide rails (120056) and 18 rail screws (100349) come in the box; the TROFAST storage boxes and pine shelves are sold separately.
Safety
Warning: always secure this stepped storage frame to the wall using the included anti-tip brackets (106989) so children cannot pull it over. Wall screws and plugs are sold separately to match your wall.
About this guide
The part numbers and counts match IKEA's assembly instructions, so you can check each piece against your box. The outer size, 94 × 44 × 91 cm, is IKEA's published size. The 94×44×91 cm dimensions and hardware numbers follow IKEA manual AA-56006-12; board thicknesses and hole offsets are our own geometric estimates. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.
The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and TROFAST are named only to say which product this guide is for.
