Fitting it
A nut takes the end of a bolt. Start it by hand so its thread catches straight, then tighten it with the key or spanner the manual shows. A barrel nut goes into a hole across the board, its slot turned so the bolt’s hole lines up; turn it with a flat screwdriver until the bolt finds its thread.
Taking it out
Hold the nut still (a barrel nut by its slot, with a flat screwdriver) while you turn the bolt out anticlockwise.
