LISABO 140×78 step 2 of 3: Lock each leg with a wedge fitting

Drop a wedge fitting (159426) into the wide end of each slot, behind the leg, with its toothed wheel towards the leg, and press it down. Then push the key (105657) down on the wheel a few times: each push turns the wheel against the leg’s ribs, until the leg sits tight.

Tools: Key (105657, in the box)

Common mistake: a wedge fitting put in the wrong way round. The manual crosses out a fitting turned round, its wheel away from the leg. Put in like that, pushing the key turns the wheel against nothing: the leg is never wedged tight, it works loose in its slot and the table wobbles. Lift the fitting out and drop it in with the wheel towards the leg. The switch in the player shows what goes wrong.

Tools you need

Questions

What tools do I need for the LISABO table?

A hammer, for the four plastic feet. The key (105657) that pushes the wedge fittings round comes in the box; the legs need no screws.

How are LISABO’s legs fixed?

Each leg’s ribbed end slides into a slot under a corner. A wedge fitting (159426) then drops into the slot behind it, and pushing the key down on the fitting’s toothed wheel wedges the leg tight.

Which way round does the wedge fitting go?

With its toothed wheel towards the leg. The manual crosses out a fitting turned the other way: its wheel then has nothing to grip and the leg stays loose.

A leg wobbles. What do I do?

Turn the table over and push the key down on that leg’s wedge fitting a few more times. If the fitting went in the wrong way round, lift it out and put it in with the wheel towards the leg.

Safety

From IKEA’s product page: for more stability, tighten the legs again when needed. The table is tested for general, non-domestic use (EN 15372) and is recommended for indoor use only.

About this guide

The steps, the part numbers, the counts and the order come from IKEA's assembly manual AA-1970558-4 (2018-01-05). The outer size, 140 × 78 × 74 cm, is IKEA's published size. The table’s length, width and height are IKEA’s; the top’s thickness, the legs’ sections and lean, and where the slots and fittings sit are read off the manual’s drawings, so they are close, not measured. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.

The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.

The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and LISABO are named only to say which product this guide is for.
