Questions

What tools do I need to assemble the IKEA INGATORP extendable table?

The 4 mm hex key (100001) and the box spanner (120202) are included in the hardware bag. You only need to bring a Phillips screwdriver for the 4 cam bolts (118331) and a flathead screwdriver for the 4 cam locks (119081).

How does the butterfly extension leaf store inside the INGATORP table?

When you pull the two semi-circular tabletop halves apart along the birch glider rails, the 45 cm butterfly leaf unfolds flat to extend the table from 110 cm to 155 cm, or folds in half on its brass centre hinges to stow neatly under the tabletop between the slide rails.

Why does the INGATORP pedestal base feel slightly loose after a few weeks?

Natural solid birch settles slightly under load during the first weeks of use. Reach around the lower pedestal block with the included box spanner (120202) and hex key (100001) to re-tighten the 4 leg nuts (100712) and 4 leg bolts (122606).

How many people does the INGATORP 110/155 cm extendable table seat?

Closed to its 110 cm round diameter, the INGATORP table comfortably seats 4 people; extended to 155 × 87 cm with the butterfly leaf unfolded, it seats up to 6 people.

Safety

Two people are needed to lift and turn the assembled table safely, and keep fingers clear of the folding butterfly leaf hinges when opening or closing the extension leaf.

About this guide

The part numbers and counts match IKEA's assembly instructions, so you can check each piece against your box. The outer size, 110–155 × 87 × 74 cm, is IKEA's published size. The turned profile of the central pedestal, the curve of the four splayed legs and the hole positions along the extension slide rails are our own estimates from IKEA’s manual and product measurements. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.

Seats 4 people at its 110 cm round size and extends to 155 cm with the self-storing butterfly leaf to seat 6.

The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.

The 3D models, drawings and text are our own. IKEA and INGATORP are named only to say which product this guide is for.
