Questions
What tools do I need to assemble the IKEA NORDEN gateleg table?
A 4 mm hex key (100001) comes in the box for the frame screws (100229) and corner bolts (122606). You also need a cross-head screwdriver, a flat screwdriver and a hammer.
How wide is the NORDEN gateleg table when folded, half open and fully open?
It is 26 cm wide with both drop-leaves folded down, 89 cm wide with one leaf raised on its gateleg, and 152 cm wide with both leaves raised (80 cm deep and 74 cm high).
Why does the centre tabletop not sit flat over the gatelegs?
Check that both swinging gateleg frames have their pivot pins (123786) at the back where the sockets in the bottom pivot rail and centre tabletop sit, and that all four pins are pressed right in to their collars.
How many drawers does the NORDEN table have?
It has six solid birch drawers in the central pedestal—three opening to the front and three opening to the back—each measuring 13 × 34 × 18 cm inside.
About this guide
The part numbers and counts match IKEA's assembly instructions, so you can check each piece against your box. The outer size, 26–152 × 80 × 74 cm, is IKEA's published size. The table’s folded, half-open and full widths (26/89/152 cm), depth (80 cm), height (74 cm), inside drawer dimensions (13 × 34 × 18 cm) and two-package weights are from IKEA’s product page for article 904.238.87 (manual AA-2139398-4); board thicknesses and hole positions are close estimates read from the manual’s drawings. The 3D runs faster than real hands do.
The manufacturer's instructions are on IKEA's product page (PDF). If something here differs from the manual in your box, follow the manual.
